Mehrangarh Fort Jodhpur

The Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur is another great specimen of Rajasthani Architecture and is a must on any one’s itinerary to this area. In the year 1458 Rao Jodha moves the capital to Jodhpur to secure his people’s safety and began building the fort in 1459 on the Hill of Birds or Bhaurcheeria Hill as it is known locally. The fort has seven gates and each one has a special feature. There are many attractions attached to the fortress especially temples and a well visited one is the Chamunda Mataji Temple as Chamunda Mataji was one of Jao’s most favourite of Goddess Deities. Other wonderful attractions include the Moti Mahal or Pearl Palace and the Hall of Mirrors otherwise known as Sheesha Mahal. There is a museum too which has unique and ancient artefacts and tells a lot about the history of the region.

Jaipur Amber Fort

Amber Fort JaipurAmber Fort, Jaipur

The Amber Fort is by far one of the great monumental pieces erected in the Amber Region of Jaipur. It is so unique in both style and expression as it is constructed from red sandstone and marble with intricate details throughout. Amber used to once be the capital city for the Kachhwaha Family but then later on in 1727 the capital was moved to Jaipur. The construction began in the reign of Raja Man Singh I but wasn’t completed in its entirety until Raja Jal Singh the first reigned.
